US Supreme Court scales back Roundup cancer lawsuits in victory for company

Over 100,000 plaintiffs are now embroiled in legal battles against Monsanto’s Roundup, alleging its link to cancer. Yet, what do we hear from the mainstream media? A collective yawn from CNN and MSNBC, who seem more invested in promoting big agribusiness than covering hard-hitting truths. Meanwhile, Fox News attempts to paint the situation as just another sensational case of ambulance chasing. It’s rich coming from outlets that profit from sensationalism themselves.

What we should ask ourselves is: why haven’t major networks fully covered the stories of these plaintiffs? Why the selective outrage? The establishment media clearly seems more comfortable pushing narratives that protect their corporate overlords than informing the American public about a potential health crisis. ABC and NBC have focused on feel-good stories while turning a blind eye to the thousands who claim that a garden product destroyed their lives. Are they too cozy with farming giants that lobby heavily for Monsanto’s interests? You bet.

Instead of investigative journalism, we get rehearsed talking points meant to keep viewers complacent and uninformed. This is a classic case of protecting the establishment over protecting the people. Meanwhile, individuals suffering from cancer are left to fend for themselves against a corporation with deep pockets and powerful legal teams. Does this surprise anyone? This is media complicity as its finest, folks—just another example of how the truth is frequently buried under corporate agendas.
