The next British PM should steer clear of Starmer’s shameful legacy

The outgoing PM has managed to play a high-stakes game with fatalities while entirely neglecting the day-to-day concerns of ordinary Brits. But where’s the accountability? Instead of soundly criticizing this leader for enabling a humanitarian crisis, mainstream outlets like BBC and Sky News are too busy burying their heads in the sand. They treat the situation with the same lack of urgency as if discussing the latest Netflix binge—uninspired and passive.

Meanwhile, tabloid press outlets go for sensationalism, spinning tales that enthrall but distract from the hard truths we need to tackle. The Daily Mail might throw some barbs, but it’s more focused on salacious details than a genuine analysis of policy failures. They seem more interested in getting clicks than serving the public with the raw, unvarnished truth. On the other hand, Guardian readers are served a warm cup of guilt-laden commentary that serves the establishment without challenging their narratives.

Where was the outrage when this PM’s policies not only failed to uplift the downtrodden but also facilitated deeply troubling outcomes? The media is failing the public by normalizing inaction under the guise of political correctness. It’s time we demand more from our news—more clarity, more truth, and less of the disingenuous applause that this outgoing PM unequivocally does not deserve.
