You have to love the irony of a group calling itself the “Cockroach Janta Party” taking center stage in India, demanding the resignation of the education minister. Two weeks of protesting, and yet here we are, left to ponder why this isn’t the headline of every major network. Instead, get ready for crickets from CNN and the rest of the narrative-pushing media cabal. They’d rather paint a picture of unity and progress that ignores the chaos brewing in the streets.
This is the same corporate media that falls head over heels for mundane political discussions. Meanwhile, India is showcasing a vibrant protest unlike anything mainstream outlets are willing to confront. They’ve deftly categorized the uprising as fringe, typically brushing it aside as a nuisance rather than a legitimate response to policy failures. Give me a break! Where’s the outrage from MSNBC? You’d think educators bearing the brunt of governmental incompetence would ignite some serious coverage. Instead, all we hear is the echo chamber of establishment politicians trying to maintain the status quo.
When dissent doesn’t fit neatly into their narratives, it’s either ignored or trivialized. They’ll cover a celebrity scandal over real grassroots activism any day. Fairness is the last thing on their lips when their true colors are cashing in on controversy rather than the real issues. It’s about time we demand real coverage, not just public relations fluff.
