China hits out at British Steel nationalisation

The UK government’s latest move to take a firm into public hands under the guise of protecting “a vital national capability” is nothing but a thinly veiled power grab. Let’s call it what it is: another instance of the government deciding the best use of taxpayers’ money. Where’s the uproar from the so-called investigative journalists at outlets like CNN or MSNBC? Oh, right—they’re busy cheerleading for big government while conveniently ignoring that these decisions always come with strings attached.

While they preach about safeguarding the nation, they also forget to mention that this could lead to inefficiencies and more waste. Ever looked at how well the government runs the NHS? Spoiler: not great. But you won’t hear that from the sanitized echo chambers of the corporate media. Instead, they parrot whatever narrative fits their agenda, spinning stories that lead us to believe government control is inherently virtuous.

Fox News, on the other hand, has been quick to cast doubt on the government’s rationale, which is refreshing, yet are they providing a comprehensive analysis or simply using it as a launching pad for their own partisan commentary? They might claim to be the voice of the people while overlooking how these moves disproportionately affect those they purportedly protect.

Ultimately, both sides of the aisle—whether it’s the left leaning toward socialism or the right posing as libertarians—are failing the populace, leaving us to dismantle the real implications ourselves. It’s time we demand transparency and reject the comforting lies served up by mainstream media outlets.
