So, after Pakistan plays peacekeeper, hosting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian following those oh-so-special US-Iran negotiations in Switzerland, the mainstream media is suddenly acting like this is some heroic turnaround. But let’s cut through the nonsense: CNN and MSNBC will likely hail this as a monumental win for diplomacy, conveniently glossing over the fact that negotiating with Iran has been more of a game of chess than a soccer match. How long has the U.S. kept Iran as the boogeyman of the Middle East? And now they want to sell us this rose-colored narrative of cooperation?
Meanwhile, Fox News will probably present something completely different, leaning into their typical fearmongering approach, painting this meeting as a “dangerous concession” that somehow signals weakness. The irony, of course, is that they themselves have supported hawkish policies that got us into this mess in the first place. It’s mind-numbing how these outlets spin the same event to conform to their established narratives, almost like they’re reading from a script orchestrated by lobbyists.
In truth, any “breakthrough” in diplomacy is worth questioning. Is the U.S. genuinely interested in peace, or just playing nice while hiding its true objectives? And let’s not forget how the media spins these narratives to fit their corporate interests. Don’t buy into the theatrics; this is just another chapter in a long saga where the usual suspects manipulate perceptions for their gain. The public deserves to see the truth, not this twisted spectacle.
