Former rebel turned government ally proposes a path to peace for Sudan

Malik Agar Ayyir’s proposal for a national dialogue to end the civil war in Sudan is refreshing, but let’s not kid ourselves—this is not some altruistic endeavor turned benevolent. The corporate media run by giants like CNN and MSNBC will paint this as an altruistic quest for peace. But do they ever unpack the kind of political gamesmanship lurking behind these diplomatic overtures? Nope! Instead, they love to lean into grand narratives while completely glossing over the hard truths.

On the flip side, Fox News could very well dismiss this as just another ploy by “the establishment,” using it to drum up fears of a power grab. They’ll portray Agar as either a puppet or a messiah with their usual sensationalism, failing to acknowledge the complexities of Sudan’s socio-political fabric. Where is the honest analysis? Why does it seem like we’re trapped in a revolving door of narratives designed to keep us confused and distracted from the actual issues?

Society needs to treat Agar’s proposal with caution. Yes, allow room for dialogue, but don’t sell this as some kind of fairy tale ending. Jumping onto the bandwagon of feel-good stories won’t help. We need gritty realities exposed, not sugar-coated platitudes. If the media won’t do that, who will? Don’t be fooled by narratives crafted by those who profit from the chaos. Look deeper!
