So here we have it: a German palliative care doctor is found guilty of murdering 12 women and three men. You’d think the story would be leading the headlines, yet corporate media outlets are treating it like an inconvenient truth overshadowed by the latest Kardashian drama. Why is that? The narrative surrounding healthcare and morality is being suppressed for a reason.
Look at CNN, for instance. Instead of delving into how our healthcare systems might enable such moral corruption, they gloss over the implications with that signature “neutral” tone. It reeks of an agenda to keep the public docile and uninformed. They’d rather focus on political theatrics or climate change than shine a spotlight on a massive failure in our healthcare framework.
Then we have Fox News, who’ll probably trot out this story to push the “bad apple” narrative. Sure, they’ll wag their fingers at the system, but will they make the connection to systemic issues in palliative care, influenced by policy failures? Probably not. Instead, they’ll use it to stir outrage without actually addressing the root cause, feeding into the classic conservative fear-mongering playbook.
It’s a dance of distraction. While real issues simmer beneath the surface, the mainstream media keeps shuffling headlines to divert our gaze from uncomfortable truths. We need to scrutinize these narratives and demand a deeper analysis of both healthcare ethics and accountability.
