Harvey Weinstein’s health saga—heart failure and now on the road to recovery, according to his representative, Juda Engelmayer. He claims Weinstein is “out of the woods for now,” blessed with antibiotics for pneumonia and feeling fine. This is classic Hollywood PR spin, isn’t it? Major outlets like CNN or the New York Times don’t hesitate to serve up sympathetic portrayals of individuals who are notorious for predatory behavior, all while glossing over the millions of women harmed by their actions.
Let’s get real: Hollywood tends to play favorites, and Weinstein is a prime example. Why is mainstream media giving him a pass? This is the same industry that loves to throw public figures under the bus for much lesser offenses. It’s the hypocrisy of the elites, protected by the very same corporations that market morality on their movie screens while sweeping their own dirt under the rug.
In stark contrast, if you or I were facing similar charges, would the media put out an article about our “recovery” with such leniency? Doubtful. This double standard fuels the narrative that some are above the law, while others are crushed by it. Instead of focusing on his recovery, perhaps it’s high time we call out the systemic enablers protecting him and ask the hard questions about accountability.
