President Trump recently revealed during a phone interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper that he spoke with Lindsey Graham just hours before the senator’s demise, claiming Graham was “just fine.” This revelation exposes the deceptive dynamics of corporate media and their incessant narrative spinning. It’s one thing to report the facts, but CNN, that bastion of so-called journalism, aims to paint the narrative however it suits their agenda—often at the expense of clarity and truth.
Let’s face it: CNN’s Jake Tapper had the opportunity here to hold Trump accountable, but instead, it feels like they’re more interested in pulling on the emotional strings of viewers than investigating the reality behind the story. It’s a classic case of what I call “outrage journalism”—feeding the public sensationalist tidbits while glossing over the real issues at play. If a Democratic figure were involved here, you can bet your bottom dollar that every word would be dissected to death, yet when it’s Trump, the scrutiny fades away.
Fox News, on the other hand, would likely champion Trump’s anecdote as proof of his ongoing connection to his political allies, further entrenching their audience into the echo chamber. In both cases, the truth takes a back seat to the preferred narrative. Meanwhile, the American people are left without the full context they deserve.
If you want real journalism, you have to look beyond the mainstream noise. Corporate media is simply failing time and again, whether it’s through omission or outright distortion, all while claiming to deliver the news. Let’s not let them get away with it.
