It’s no surprise that the establishment media, particularly the likes of CNN and MSNBC, are finally acknowledging a shift in the administration’s tone toward technology. For months, we’ve seen a hands-off approach, where corporate giants like Facebook and Google enjoyed free rein while our privacy and freedoms danced on a tightrope. Now, all of a sudden, this administration seems to be throwing caution to the wind, perhaps sensing public discontent or pressure from those very companies’ unchecked power.
But let’s not get lost in the smoke and mirrors. You can bet CNN will frame this shift as a proactive and responsible stance, while ignoring how they’ve sat high and mighty, pushing narratives that exonerate Big Tech. Why wasn’t there this urgency during the online censorship and data mining spree? They’d rather spotlight the color of the new administration’s tie instead of dissecting their true motivations.
Fox News might play the ‘we told you so’ card, but god forbid they actually hold anyone in power accountable for the mess we’ve been navigating. Their critics act as if they’re champions of the people, while constantly spinning stories to fit their conservative agenda, proving that political opportunism is alive and well on both sides of the aisle. It’s essentially a game of look over here—such a distraction from the underlying issues of accountability and transparency.
So as this newfound interventionism starts to rustle some feathers, don’t let “change” fool you. It’s time to demand real accountability instead of just a flipping script that amounts to nothing! The stakes are high, and the media should be the watchdog, not the lapdog.
