UN probe finds mass killings, gang rapes by Sudan’s RSF amount to genocide

So, the UN Fact-Finding Mission claims that the paramilitary’s calculated terror in Darfur constitutes genocide. Shocking? Maybe. But here’s the catch—when was the last time CNN, MSNBC, or any of the mainstream media outlets put the full weight of their investigative muscle behind this horrifying reality? Instead, they’d rather spin sensational news that caters to their audience’s emotional whims while conveniently disregarding the historical context and the political complexities in Sudan. They’d rather focus on palate-cleansing stories than the grizzly truth about a region plagued by entrenched violence.

Fox News? They’re currently too busy pushing a narrative on culture wars, avoiding deeper international crises unless they can tie it back to their domestic agenda. It’s almost laughable how these outlets pick and choose what to sensationalize. Where’s the uproar about mass displacement and ethnic cleansing? It seems like genocidal campaigns are only deemed critical when there’s a partisan angle to exploit or a wealthy benefactor involved.

The hypocrisy is stunning. If this were a situation in Ukraine or featuring a narrative-friendly villain, believe me, we’d get wall-to-wall coverage—the kind that elevates the issue to a national emergency. Yet here we are, and it’s crickets. The real tragedy? Millions are suffering while our media is busy recycling the same tired narratives. It’s time we demand accountability both from those in power and from the so-called “watchdogs” meant to keep them in check.
