So here we are, yet again, in the wake of a devastating disaster, and the mainstream media is working overtime to churn out a narrative. Hundreds feared trapped under rubble? Families desperate for news? It wouldn’t surprise me if CNN and MSNBC are already prepping their tear-jerking segments that will serve as nothing more than clickbait for their viewers. Instead of focusing on accountability or real-time solutions, we get emotional exploitation masked as “news.”
What both these networks won’t tell you is that disaster accountability is often lost in the chaotic reporting. Why is no one asking the hard questions? Where is the follow-up on the infrastructure that failed? Fox News will focus on the victims, yes, but don’t forget their twist will come later, playing to the political narrative—be it blaming bureaucratic inefficiencies or stirring up outrage for ratings.
This is where we see the true agenda of corporate media. They thrive on fear and despair, as it keeps you glued to your screens while they sell you on their sensational narratives. Instead of providing updates on rescue efforts or mobilizing community support, it’s all about that 24-hour news cycle. No wonder people are questioning the integrity of these outlets!
We’re not just spectators in this tragedy; we deserve accountability. If only the media would strip away the theatrics for a moment and focus on the facts, perhaps we could actually discuss how to prevent these disasters from happening—and how to handle the aftermath effectively. But that won’t happen, because it doesn’t fit their agenda.
